SHOPPING BAGS are cut, quilted together by hand using heat, and stretched over wood before being manipulated into textures that explore highlighting the natural qualities of the material. The plastic quilts are warped, by hot air or flame, creating a terrain of soft malleable spaces tensioned by melted hardened areas that maintain structure and expose the material underneath. The works are then either painted, high gloss or matte, or left in the natural state, and encased in unpolished steel giving an industrial, but minimal, profile.
