PETRIFIED MOSS is meticulously pieced together on wood paneling to create a vibrant and natural backdrop for the quilts from the plastics design. The quilts are stretched over the panels, much like the other designs, and affected with heat to create a pattern of burns and scarring. Instead of steel or wood, this process reveals the texture and colors of the moss underneath. The plastic is left in its raw state often revealing text printed on the bag. The inverted design features plastic scraps seemingly growing out of the moss mosaics. The finished works are encased in a steel frame adding a hint of industrial grey or shining silver to the design.
